In a candid interview with Marie Claire UK, Venus Williams addressed the subject of cosmetic procedures with refreshing honesty. “If I felt like I wanted to feel better about myself, and that’s what made me feel better, I would totally do it,” she said.

 

While she asserted that she’s currently happy with her appearance saying, “I would prefer to keep my look, you know,” Williams made it clear that personal empowerment matters more than public approval.

“So many people are judging other people,” she added. “But if it makes somebody feel good, that’s all that matters.” The message would resonate in an age where even elite athletes are expected to maintain impossible beauty standards.

Her recent return to professional tennis after undergoing fibroid surgery has made headlines. She missed over a year due to health issues but came back in July at the Mubadala Citi DC Open and earned her first match win in 16 months.
