Laila Ali has seemingly responded after Claressa Shields secured the $15 million she requested for their potential boxing matchup.

Earlier this week, Ali took to Instagram to share a video with her 1.2 million followers. Initially, Ali promoted her upcoming media projects before telling viewers she would answer their one burning question when she was “good and ready” to do so.

“You know why? Nobody calls shots on me — I do things when, and how, and where I like to do them!” she blatantly stated.

Social media users weighed in on Laila Ali’s apparent response to Claressa Shields’ $15 million offer in

As The Shade Room previously reported, in July, Laila Ali was captured sharing whether she would hop out retirement to hop into the ring with Claressa Shields.

“Unless somebody calls me and says they have it, we not even going to have a conversation. I’m not trying to come back and fight, but if someone offered that kind of money.. I would actually have to think about it,” Ali said at the time.

 

Subsequently, Shields responded to her comments via X, writing that she was “really motivated” and Ali should “be careful” with what she asks for.

“You not a better boxer than me & at 175 I’ll put you on your back! BEEN READY FOR YOU!” she added in part.

Then, by the middle of the month, Shields came forward to let Ali know that she was ready with her offer.

“That’s what I’m talking abut. That’s what I like. Laila, I’m here with my team. I got some great news for you. We got the $15 million!” she said at the time.
