The Tupac Murder Case Blows Open: Kefe D’s Arrest Points to Diddy’s Alleged $1 Million Bounty; New Revelations About Snoop Dogg and “Tupac Alive” Conspiracy

The nearly three-decade-old murder case of Hip-Hop legend Tupac Shakur has burst back into the spotlight with the arrest of Kefe D. The Las Vegas Police Department has used the suspect’s own prior confessions and statements to link the long-cold case to an alleged conspiracy orchestrated by Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Diddy Allegedly Ordered a $1 Million Hit

New evidence presented in the case stems from statements by Kefe D, who claimed to have been hired by Diddy to “deal with” Tupac. According to former LAPD officer Greg Kading, Diddy allegedly offered $1 million for the hit.

The reported motive behind this deadly feud was personal: Tupac had been photographed with Sarah Chapman, Diddy’s baby mama, in 1995. Diddy, who frequently referred to Chapman as his “dream girl,” was allegedly furious, leading to an initial, unsuccessful attempt on Tupac’s life, and ultimately the successful one in Las Vegas in 1996. Kefe D, who previously walked free for over 20 years, was arrested after his recorded confessions detailed his involvement in the shooting.

The Shooting and Kefe D’s Confession

The incident occurred on September 7, 1996, shortly after Tupac and Suge Knight left the Mike Tyson match at the MGM Grand. After getting into a fight with Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson in the lobby (Kefe D’s nephew), Tupac and Suge left in their black BMW.

Kefe D, along with Anderson and other associates, spotted Tupac’s caravan at a red light. Kefe D confessed that their white Cadillac pulled alongside the BMW. He described how Tupac was seen reaching for a firearm first, but before he could act, shots were fired from the backseat of Kefe D’s car, hitting Tupac multiple times.

Snoop Dogg’s Last-Minute Absence

The evidence file also points to the bizarre timing of Snoop Dogg’s absence from the black BMW that night. Snoop revealed that he was initially supposed to be in the car but made a last-minute change of plans.

This decision came shortly after a heated argument with Tupac and Suge Knight on a flight back to Los Angeles. The conflict arose when Snoop, in an interview with Angie Martinez, expressed his admiration for Diddy and Biggie’s music, a stance that severely angered Tupac and Death Row leadership. Snoop claims he felt a deep sense of animosity from Tupac just two days before the shooting.

The Enduring “Tupac is Alive” Theory

Despite the new murder charges, the persistent rumor that Tupac faked his death and is alive continues to resurface. The theory largely stems from:

Suge Knight’s Claims: Suge Knight has repeatedly claimed over the past two decades that Tupac is alive. He stated that when he left the hospital, he and Tupac were “laughing and joking,” contradicting police reports that Tupac was in a deep sleep.
“Cuba” Sightings: A rapper named Tre claimed in a leaked 2010 recording that the last time he saw Tupac was “in Cuba.” This was followed two weeks later by a video clip allegedly showing Tupac in a parking lot in Cuba.
Suge Jr. Panic: In 2018, Suge Knight’s son, Suge Jr., caused a stir by posting on Instagram that Tupac was alive and living in Malaysia, subsequently sharing a threatening text message telling him he had “said too much.”

A historian noted that Tupac was allegedly “method acting” the thug life persona as part of a political plan with his stepfather to end the East Coast-West Coast beef, suggesting Tupac was playing a character who could not survive the lifestyle he adopted.
