New Evidence and Betrayal Claims Reopen King Von’s Death Case: Did Lil Durk and His Cousin Set Up The Chicago Legend?

The King Von case has been officially reopened in the Atlanta court system after new evidence and chilling claims have gone viral, suggesting the rapper’s death was far more complicated than a simple parking lot altercation. The case now points to potential betrayal from inside King Von’s own circle, with accusations leveled directly at Lil Durk and his cousin, Vonyie.
The Shocking Hospital Report

New information has emerged regarding King Von’s final moments. Police were reportedly told that Von was briefly brought back to life and made it through two surgeries. However, he passed away after a nurse startled him. Witnesses claimed that Von hopped off the operating table, fought the nurse, and demanded to know “Where his gun at?” before going into shock. This detail is strange, as King Von was not reported to have had a firearm at the hospital.
Even more disturbing are the claims by Vonyie’s father, who alleged in an interview that Vonyie was behind King Von’s death, and that Lil Durk knew it was a setup.
The Motive: Money and Rivalry
Academics wondered why Durk would ever want King Von gone, but the allegations suggest a powerful motive: money and status.
-
Business Rivalry: King Von had no contractual ties to Durk’s label, but he was rapidly surpassing Durk in fame and business success. As Vonyie’s father put it: “How you bring me to the table and I pass you up? Don’t nobody want their cheap spot taken, do they?”
Secret Court Case: Durk and King Von allegedly had an ongoing court case against each other. Shortly after King Von’s passing, this case ended in a private settlement, suggesting Durk had a financial motive to see the case—and King Von—gone.
Vonyie’s father claims that the day a payment was made to Lil Tim (Quando Rondo’s friend), Durk asked Vonyie, “Was it open?” to which Vonyie replied, “It’s off the hinges,” suggesting the alleged “back door” was a setup.
The Night King Von Was Killed
On November 5, 2020, King Von and his crew—a large entourage of 20 to 25 members—were celebrating his album release party in Atlanta. The night ended around 2:30 AM, with the plan to return to their Airbnb.
In a last-minute decision, Von told his driver to take him to the Monaco Lounge, an after-hours spot. This was a “complete Von decision,” according to his manager, and a massive shift in mood. For some reason, Von was not himself, staying in the truck for nearly 30 minutes.
The situation escalated when one of Von’s crew noticed Quando Rondo and his team in a white SUV in the parking lot. Upon hearing this, King Von immediately jumped out of the truck, went straight to Quando Rondo’s vehicle, and started throwing hands.
During the brawl, Quando’s best friend, Lil Tim, came from the backside of the car with a firearm and shot King Von several times. Von’s crew retaliated, but two off-duty police officers rushed to the scene, adding to the chaos and shooting one of King Von’s men.
Von’s manager believes Von, despite being hit, was actually holding onto Quando Rondo to shield himself from the ongoing gunfire.
Justice and Revenge
Von was rushed to the hospital, where he eventually passed. Lil Tim was arrested and charged, but was later released after his lawyer successfully argued self-defense, stating the case against Tim was dismissed before ever being indicted.
King Von’s friends felt cheated and wanted revenge, leading to reports of a retaliatory hit on Quando Rondo’s crew that killed his friend, Lil Pab. Lil Durk appeared to claim responsibility for the hit in a diss track that dropped soon after, rapping: “They like Durk he a singer, He won’t do something, You can believe whatever you want, I got your folks hit.”
Snitches and Bodycam Footage
The case took another dramatic turn with the arrest of Ted, the brother of Durk’s main “hitter.” Arrested for a minor firearm charge, new bodycam footage showed Ted having a meltdown and instantly begging the police to snitch on people so he could get released, changing the trajectory of Durk’s legal case.
Furthermore, reports indicated that Lil Durk found out his co-defendant, Vonyie, filed for protective custody in court. This suggested that Vonyie had indeed “flipped” and was snitching on Durk.
The culmination of these events—the death of King Von, the self-defense ruling for his shooter, the revenge killing of Lil Pab, and the constant threat of internal betrayal—has created an atmosphere of paranoia in King Von’s old neighborhood, with members of O-Block showing on Instagram Live that they now view everything, even a simple black truck near Von’s mural, with suspicion.
