Atlanta’s rap scene is reeling from another major legal shakeup as rapper Lil Baby (Dominique Jones) is reportedly the next target for a large-scale RICO indictment. An Atlanta journalist, who accurately predicted the YSL indictment, has now stated that the public defenders’ office is actively preparing for a racketeering case against the 4PF and OMF organizations, with Lil Baby expected to be named in the indictment.

The news comes as Lil Baby is already facing intense scrutiny, with police and rivals contributing to the rising pressure.

Damaging Evidence and Suspicious Moves

The prosecution has reportedly gathered serious evidence against Baby, including wiretapped calls played in court where an unidentified individual suggested that Lil Baby “had tickets on some people’s heads”—implying he financed bounties for acts of violence.

In a highly suspicious move, Lil Baby recently announced he was retiring from music and promptly shut down his 4PF record label. He publicly admitted that he ended the label to avoid being held accountable for others’ actions and to stop 4PF from being classified as a “street team.” This calculated action has been widely seen as a tacit admission of guilt, strengthening the prosecution’s belief that Baby was attempting to distance himself from criminal association.

Atlanta Police Point the Finger

In a shocking public announcement, the Atlanta Police Department (APD) directly blamed Lil Baby’s actions for the deaths of two people, including a two-year-old, that occurred last summer.

The APD stated that the incident was a direct result of Lil Baby filming a music video in a rival gang’s stronghold, a location he “knew he should not have been.” An officer called the act “cowardly” and vowed that the APD team would “work relentlessly to hold you and the persons that you are affiliated with responsible for those actions.” Police claim rivals were alerted to Baby’s location via social media posts from nearby civilians.

Young Thug Feud and Snitching Allegations

Adding to the chaos, the relationship between Lil Baby and Young Thug is severely strained. Following his own plea deal, Young Thug’s leaked jail calls surfaced online where he called a Baby collaborator a “rat” for working with the individual. Thug later used Instagram to plead with Baby, saying “don’t let this divide us,” and revealing that Baby had been secretly helping other co-defendants with their legal fees.

Meanwhile, the controversy surrounding Young Thug’s own interrogation tape, where he appears to name an associate (Peewee Rosco) regarding a 2015 shooting of Lil Wayne’s tour bus, has split the rap community:

Critics like 6ix9ine and YSL Mondo argued that Thug’s extensive interrogation and apparent naming of names constitutes snitching.
Insiders like YSL Woody warned other rappers like 21 Savage to “stay out of it” and unfollow Thug, stating that someone with nothing to lose will take everyone down with them. 21 Savage subsequently unfollowed Thug.

Finally, the integrity of the justice system has been questioned after Young Thug’s private jail calls were leaked online without watermarks, leading critics to accuse the government of purposely leaking the conversations to bait Thug and sway public opinion while he is on probation. These leaks have now resulted in the state of Georgia filing a motion to revoke Thug’s probation and send him back to jail.
