On Monday, June 23, the Grammy award-winning rapper announced the title of her upcoming album, Am I The Drama? The album is set to feature 23 tracks, including her recent hit “Outside” and her previous singles “Up” and “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion.

Bardi made the anticipated announcement after she dropped a trailer for the album over the weekend. The visuals show the “Like What” spitta wearing an all-black dress while surrounded by black crows.

“Seven years, and the time has come,” she said. “Seven years of love, life, and loss. Seven years, I gave them grace, but, now, I give them hell. I learned power is not given; it’s taken. I’m shedding feathers and no more tears. I’m not back; I’m beyond. I’m not your villain; I’m your karma. The time is here. The time is now.”

Before “Outside” came “Enough (Miami),” which, in turn, was her first formal solo single since 2021’s “Up.” In the meantime, she has released numerous collaborations, including 2023’s “Bongos,” with Megan Thee Stallion, and “Put It on da Floor Again,” with Latto; 2022 songs with Kanye West, Glorilla, Kay Flock, and Rosalía; and, in 2021, collaborations with Lizzo (“Rumors”), Normani (“Wild Side”), Migos (“Type Sh*t”), and Summer Walker (“Bitter”).

Cardi B’s New Album Comes Seven Years After the First

Cardi B took to her official Instagram page on June 23 to announce her brand-new album. Entitled “Am I The Drama?,” the album cover features Cardi B wearing a red outfit complete with a headpiece to match. There are also two birds in the background of the artwork.

Cardi B’s “Am I The Drama” album will be released on September 19 via Atlanta Records. The announcement also states that there is a link in her Instagram bio to preorder it.

Notably, Cardi B’s announcement came roughly 20 hours after she posted on Instagram to tease the information. She did so by posting a short video of herself discussing the seven-year hiatus. Cardi used the caption, “TIMES UP. I got an announcement to make tomorrow.” The video ended with a countdown.

So far, the video of the rapper announcing her new album has garnered over one million likes and roughly 36,000 comments, indicating considerable excitement. According to Variety, Cardi B had also recently told her fans that she had turned the body of work over to the record label after having finished recording.
