Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce may still be doing his podcast, “New Heights,” with his brother, Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce, but this offseason has seen him make far less public appearances than he did a year ago.

During the 2024 offseason, Kelce jetted all over the globe, visiting his girlfriend, 14-time Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift, on her Eras Tour.

He even appeared onstage with her during one of her concerts in London, England, and got to meet members of the British Royal Family.

Kelce and Swift made their relationship public in September of the 2023 NFL season. Following their reveal, networks broadcasting Chiefs games frequently showed Swift watching and cheering, much to the dismay of many traditional fans.

However, Swift’s presence also brought in millions of new viewers hoping to catch a glimpse of her.

During the first season in which they were together, Swift was a frequent attendee of Kansas City’s games, even traveling to away games to support them and Kelce.

But in 2024, due to security concerns and her own tour schedule, she scaled back her attendance to home games, and even then she only attended if she was not on tour somewhere else.

This upcoming season, despite the fact that her Eras Tour is over, it will not be a surprise to see Swift attend even fewer games.

Kelce, motivated by the Chiefs’ loss in Super Bowl LIX, does not want the distractions that come with his internationally famous girlfriend attending every game. And she, quite frankly, agrees with him.

As mentioned, Kelce and Swift have not been making as many public appearances as they did a year ago. And that is by design.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Gracie Abrams, the daughter of acclaimed film director JJ Abrams and who opened for Swift during her Eras Tour, revealed that one of the things she learned from the 14-time Grammy Award winner is that privacy is very important.

“I feel like I learned a lot from her, obviously,” Abrams shared, “but one of the things that I’ve felt lucky to observe is how extreme it can be [for her]. It helps right-size my own s***.

“It’s like, I really don’t have it that bad in terms of invasion of privacy, you know what I mean?

In other words, Swift and Kelce spent so much time in the public eye over the last two NFL seasons that they needed time out of the spotlight for a while.

Kelce is preparing for his 13th NFL season and desperately wants to win another Super Bowl before he hangs up his cleats.

Swift spent nearly a year traveling around the world on her Eras Tour and has other projects that she is working on as well.

The time will come when they will venture back into the limelight, but fans should not expect that to be any time soon.
